CPA files FR petition to prevent appointing new CJ

The Centre for Policy Alternatives (CPA) has filed a fundamental rights petition to prevent Mohan Peiris from being appointed as Chief Justice, and Ada Derana correspondent reported.

Former Attorney General Mohan Peiris PC will take oaths today as the new Chief Justice, reliable sources told Ada Derana. He is scheduled to be sworn in before President Mahinda Rajapaksa at 12.30pm today.
