The two main suspects of the murder of the Chief monk of a temple in Egoda Uyana, Moratuwa have been found shot dead in Bandaragama area, Police said a short while ago.

The Buddhist monk of the Sunandopanandaramaya Temple in Egoda Uyana, Moratuwa, was stabbed to death last night over a land dispute. It is reported that there had been a long standing dispute between two men who were allegedly illegally living on the Temple land and the monk. The monk who had already filed a case against the two men had yesterday again lodged a complaint at the police station regarding the dispute.

Following the incident the villagers have set fire to the alleged attackers’ houses.
