Three arrested over acid attack on Commissioner

Three suspects were arrested over the acid attack on North Central Province Ayurvedha Commissioner.

The Ayurvedic Commissioner of the North Central Province Kumara Alwis was admitted to the Anuradhapura hospital following an acid attack on February 22.

The Commissioner, Kumara Alwis suffered most of his injuries on his face due to the attack and was admitted to the Anuradhapura teaching hospital.

He was then transferred to the Colombo hospital, Director of the Anuradhapura teaching hospital Dr. W. Atapattu stated.

The Commissioner was attacked by two persons who had arrived at his official residence.
