Railway trade unions threaten strike from midnight

Several Railway trade unions will launch a token strike from midnight today demanding a solution for their salary anomalies. Speaking to Ada Derana Railways Professional Trade Union Alliance convenor Janaka Fernando said that earlier discussions on the matter have been futile.

 

However when inquired, Transport Minister Kumar Welgama stated that discussions were currently underway with trade unions regarding the matter.
