70-year-old man jumps to his death at Hambantota hospital

A seventy-year old man who was in custody over charges of sexual assault and child molestation, committed suicide by jumping off the second floor of the Hambantota General Hospital while receiving treatment for a minor illness.

 

The man jumped to his death this morning (May 22) and had been taken to hospital under police protection for a minor ailment.

 

An Ada Derana correspondent stated that the man had been charged for molesting his daughters.

 

The Hambantota police are conducting further inquiries.
