Police today said that a special traffic plan has been implemented due to the Diyawanna Vesak Zone in Battaramulla.
Motorists heading towards Malabe are advised to travel along Denzil Kobbekaduwa Mawatha from Parliament Roundabout.
Vehicles traveling towards the Parliament from through Denzil Kobbekaduwa Mawatha can enter the Mattaranulla-Malabe main road through Robert Gunawardene Mawatha and then travel towards Parliament Roundabout.
Vehicles traveling between Malabe and Colombo should use the Malabe main road through Battaramulla Town and Thalangama Town avoiding Denzil Kobbekaduwa Mawatha.
The Diyawanna Vesak zone was declared open by President Mahinda Rajapakse last night with the participation of Ven. Elle Gunawansa thero, Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse.
