Fishermen advised to remain vigilant

Fishing and naval communities are requested to remain vigilant from Mannar to Potuvil via Galle and Jaffna to Trincomalee as strong winds will increase up to 70kmph, the Disaster Management Center (DMC) said.
Meanwhile the Department of Meteorology had stated that several spells of showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Galle, Matara, Puttalam and Kurunegala districts.
Southwestern monsoonal winds will be strengthen at times over the island and especially along the western slopes of central hills.
