SLC appoint retired SSP to look into Ramith Rambukwella incident

Sri Lanka Cricket has directed retired SSP Lakshman de Silva to conduct an inquiry into the incident involving Ramith Rambukwella on board a flight to London with the Sri Lankan Cricket A Team.

 

Rambukwella had attempted to open the cabin door at 35,000ft when he mistook it for the toilet door.

 

Allegations have been made that the player was under the influence of alcohol at the time.

Further to the earlier Press Release on the above subject, the Disciplinary Committee of SLC met this evening, and has directed Rtd. Senior Superintendent of Police Lakshman de Silva ( Manager - Anti Corruption & Security of SLC) to conduct an inquiry into this incident and give his report within 7 days to the CEO of SLC.

The CEO Ashley De Silva will then forward the said report to the Disciplinary Committee for further action.
