August 26, 2013 04:48 pm
The
Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) and the Medical Research Institute (MRI)
have found no traces of the chemical dicyandiamide (DCD)
or Clostridium Botulinum in 12 samples
of imported milk powder, the Health Ministry stated.
The Health Service Director General had sent the
samples to ITI and MRI for testing following the direction of the ministerial committee
set up to look into the matter.
Furthermore, 8 samples of infant milk powder containing
whey protein were tested for Botulinum while tests found no traces of it.
After Nestle had certified that its whey powder is
brought from France, the Ministry granted it permission to add the powder to
domestic milk in producing Milo.
