The Tamil National Alliance has announced its decision on how to fill the two bonus seats awarded to them following their victory at the Northern Provincial Council elections.

The TNA has appointed Mannar District candidate Ayub Nashmeen to fill one of the seats while the remaining bonus seat will be shared among the five losing candidates who received the highest preferential votes on an alternating system of one year each.

Vanni District TNA Parliamentarian Selvam Adeklanadan told Ada Derana that this decision was taken in order to strengthen democracy within the alliance.
