Tissa Attanayake resigns as UNP Chief Organizer for Kundasale

October 2, 2013   10:33 pm

UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake has resigned from his post as the Kundasale Chief Organizer for the UNP, sources stated.

He handed in his letter of resignation to UNP Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe today.

The decision comes after UNP suffered a loss in the Kundasale electorate of the Kandy District which Attanyake is the organizer for.

A spokesman for MP Attanayake stated that he wanted to accept the blame for the loss instead of allowing the Opposition Leader to take all the blame while also being of the view that a younger politician should be given the chance to take up the position.
