Mahinda Abeykoon elected chairman of Central PC

Mahinda Abeykoon was elected chairman of Central Provincial Council by a majority of two votes a short while ago. It is reported that the UPFA had nominated Abeykoon for the chairmanship while the opposition has named M.D. Nimalsiri.

 

Accordingly at the first session of the Central Provincial Council a vote had been held where Abeykoon received 29 votes while Nimalsiri received 27.
