The government will have to face the consequences of creating frictions within the opposition party, UNP Media Spokesman and MP Gayantha Karunathilaka stated.

Speaking at a press conference held today (October 9) in Colombo, the MP said that the government was unable to find solutions to the problems farmers were still facing to sell their harvests while pensions were not being paid and Sri Lankan Transport Board employees were not receiving their gratuity payments.

He stated that the price of milk powder was increased yesterday while the government is getting ready to hike gas prices as well.

Karunathilaka added that while the Deputy Finance Minister was talking about legalizing the moonshine trade another UPFA politician in the south was talking about legalizing prostitution and also claimed that the UNP rejected these moves.
