Joint time table for SLTB, private buses gets Cabinet nod

December 17, 2013   03:02 pm

The Cabinet has granted permission for Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) and private buses to operate on a joint time table from 15th January 2014.

A Ministry Sub Committee appointed to prepare a national bus fare policy had decided to implement the joint time table following a meeting with private bus union representatives as well as Chairmen of Provincial Transport Authorities.

However, it was reportedly delayed due to the opposition by SLTB workers.
