The Ministry of Health has introduced a special 24 hour hotline service for the public to complain regarding establishments which are selling food items unsuitable for consumption.

The three telephone numbers are being introduced by the ministry coinciding with the operation for the inspection of food establishments across the country.

The raids will be carried from Monday (Dec. 23) for the next 4 days, in view of the upcoming festive season, the ministry said, adding that inspection will be carried out in establishments such as bakeries, restaurants, hotels as well as meat, fish, vegetable and fruit stalls.

The Ministry of Health urges the public to report such establishments to the telephone numbers: 011-3 071 073, 011-2 676 161 or 1977.
