Two suspects were arrested over the robbery of Rs 1,860,000 in cash from a woman who was preparing to deposit the money at a bank in the Ambalangoda town last evening (22). The entire plot had been uncovered after police, based on a suspicion, had detained and interrogated the woman’s nephew who had accompanied her to the bank. The suspect had carried out the robbery using one of his friends. A portion of the stolen money was deposited in a bank in Elpitiya while the rest has been recovered. Pic By – Deepal de Silva
