Two nabbed with fake money

Two persons have been arrested in the Panangala area in Udugama for printing counterfeit currency notes and for the possession of fake money, police said.

A total of nine fake notes of the Rs 1,000 denomination and four notes of Rs 500 denomination have been found in the possession of the suspects.

A computer, scanner and a printer used for printing the counterfeit currency have also been taken into custody.

The arrested suspects, who are residents of Panangala, are to be produced before the Udugama Magistrate’s Court today (23). 

Udugama Police are conducting further investigations.
