VIDEO: Police to arrest Wanathamulla protesters

Police today said that investigations have been launched to arrest the organisers of a protest in Wanathamulla yesterday against the alleged abduction of a resident from the area.

Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana stated that they have received information including video footage of the people engaged in the protest. 

A large number of people had gathered engaged in a protest blocking the Baseline Road over the alleged abduction.

The abducted persons, said to be an activist against the demolishing of houses in Wanathamulla, had returned home last evening. 

The protestors had also hurled water bottle at UPFA MP Duminda Silva who had arrived at the location in order to intervene and resolve the situation.
