Security guard injured in attack by students at J’pura Uni

One person has been injured and hospitalized following a clash between students and security personnel at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura this evening, police said.

A group of students from the university hostel had reportedly attacked the security post at the entrance at around 8.10pm with stones and other missiles. 

One security guard was injured from the attack and has been admitted to the hospital, Mirihana Police said.

The situation has been brought under control while a large number of police personnel have been station at the university premises, police said.
