Former Western Province Chief Minister and UPFA candidate Prasanna Ranatunga has received the highest preference votes in the Gampaha DIstrict with a total of 249,678 votes.

Former Western Province Minister of Road Development‚ Housing and Construction‚
Fisheries and Tourism, Nimal Lanza has received largest number of preference votes amongst the UPFA candidates in the Gampaha District.

Former member of the Western Provincial Council (WPC) Harshana Rajakaruna has received the highest number of preference votes in the UNP with 51,018 votes. 

Gampaha District (UPFA):

Prasanna Ranatunga - 249,678
Nimal Lanza - 106,661
Sahan Pradeep - 57,892

Gampaha District (UNP):

Harshana Rajakaruna - 51,018
Kavinda Jayawardena - 41,654
Edward Gunasekara - 29,944
