VIDEO: Waterake Vijitha thero kidnapped, assaulted

Mahiyangana Pradeshiya Sabha Member and Jathika Bala Sena leader Watareka Vijitha thero has been found with his arms and legs bound near the Panadura Hirana Bridge today, Police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana told Ada Derana. He has been allegedly kidnapped and assaulted.

The Thero has been admitted to the ICU of the Panadura hospital and later transferred to the Colombo General Hospital. Police have commenced investigations into the incident. Watareka Thero was a fierce critic of the Bodu Bala Sena who was recently accused by the UNP of inciting racial hatred at a rally at Aluthgama .
