Five arrested for assaulting Kolonnawa Dy Chairman

Police have arrested 5 suspects over the alleged assault on the Deputy Chairman of the Kolonnawa Urban Council Suresh Kodagoda, police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said.
On Saturday (2), a complaint was lodges with the police alleging that Kodagoda was assaulted by a group of individuals including the Kolonnawa UC chairman Ravindra Udayashantha.
The deputy chairman was admitted to the IDH hospital after the incident and later transferred to the Colombo National Hospital.
However, the police spokesman stated that 5 persons were arrested in connection with the attack and that steps will be taken to arrest Ravindra Udayashantha as well.
