The Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) organization has severely condemned the threats made by Islamic State of Iraq and the Syria (ISIS) supporters to attack the world-renowned cultural heritage site Borobudur Temple in Magelang in Indonesia.

BBS Executive Committee member Dilanthe Withanage issuing a statement says “There is a wider probability that the Islamic fundamentalist terrorism could attack Borobudur Temple in Indonesia, as how they attacked Bamiyan Buddhist statues in Afghanistan. We highly appreciate that the Indonesian authorities have taken prompt measures to tightened security in and around Borobudur temple. The BBS believe that the activities of the ISIS is not limited to middle east. Therefore, the relevant authorities should take immediate steps to tighten security in major Buddhist religious places here and in India as well…..,”

The BBS says that a special attention should also be given to tighten the security in Buddhist religious places in India, and it expects to write to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on this regard.
