Prevailing showery weather to continue

The Met. Department forecasts that prevailing showery weather is expected to continue over most parts of the country in next 48-hours.

Intermittent showers or thundershowers will occur in the Northern, North-central, Eastern, Uva and Central provinces and in the Hambanthota district. Showers or thundershowers will occur at times elsewhere too. Heavy showers (more than 100mm) are also likely at some places.

The possibility for increasing of wind speed (up to 70 Km/hr) at times over the country and over the sea areas around the island is high.
