SLMC in a crisis over the pending decision

The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) faces a crisis over its pending decision on which candidate to support at the forthcoming Presidential election, it was reported.

A source close to the SLMC told Ada Derana that party leader Minister Rauff Hakeem, reasons unknown, delays to announce their decision, on this regard.

However, it was also reported that some SLMC members urge to take the decision in favour of the Common Candidate, while the rest wish to support the incumbent President.

The supreme committee of the SLMC is scheduled to have a meeting in a bid to reach a conclusion, however, Rauff Hakeem has not yet allocated a date for the meeting, the source added.  

Meanwhile, the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) today said that it will announce its decision on whom to support at the next year’s election, with in next 48-hours.
