Bus fares to be reduced from Feb 1 – Minister

Bus fares will be reduced by 8-10% from February 1, the Minister of Internal Transport Ranjith Maddumabandara announced a short while ago. Maddumabandara added that the minimum fare has been reduced from Rs. 9 to Rs. 8. 

President of the Private Bus Owner’s Association, Gemunu Wijeratne sid that the minimum bus fare of Rs. 9 will also be reduced by Rs. 1 following the fuel price reduction.
