Armed robbery at financial institute in Warakapola

An armed robbery has taken place at a private financial institution located in the Warakapola town.

Police said that two individuals had arrived on a motorcycle, threatened the staff and customers by pointing firearms at them and left with a large sum of money.

The exact total of the stolen money has not been calculated yet while no suspects have been arrested in connection with the robbery.

Warakapola Police are conducting an investigation.
