Woman stabs 4-year-old son, hangs herself

A 31-year-old woman has committed suicide after stabbing and critically injuring her four-year-old son in the Dadagamuwa area in Weyangoda this morning, police said.
The woman stabbed her son with a knife before committing suicide by hanging herself. The boy, who is in critical condition, is currently receiving treatment at the Weyangoda Hospital.
Her other child who was also present at home when the murder took place had managed to runaway and save himself, the police media unit said.
Weyangoda Police is conducting an investigation into the incident.
