Traffic cop killed in accident

A traffic policeman died on the spot when a motorbike he was traveling in collided with a bus near Habarana town along the Anuradhapura-Polonnaruwa road, the police said. The accident occurred on Wednesday (18) at around 10.00 pm.
 
Police Spokesperson’s officer said the police have identified the deceased as a Sergeant of the Sigiriya police traffic section.

The police added Sergeant’s body was taken to the Dambulla Base hospital mortuary for a post-mortem.

A driver of the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has been taken into custody following the accident.
