19-year-old arrested for sexual assault on minor

A 19-year-old youth from Mawathagama has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old school girl from Dankotuwa, police said.
The suspect, who was reportedly involved in a romantic relationship with the victim, had visited the girl’s house on February 13 and had taken her away unbeknownst to her parents.
The girl had later informed police that the suspect took her to his home and sexually assaulted her.
