Final report on missing persons this month

The final report prepared by the Presidential Commission to Investigate into Complaints Regarding Missing Persons is to be presented to President Maithripala Sirisena in mid March.

Secretary of the commission H.W. Gunadasa told Ada Derana that the report will be submitted on or before 18 this month.

The commission conducted public sittings in January, February and March last year in Killinochchi, Jaffna and Batticaloa Districts respectively.

Three-member committee, that comprises former High Court Judge Maxwell Parakrama Paranagama, Mano Ramanathan and Priyanthi Suranjana Vidyaratna, was appointed on 15 August 2013 by an Extraordinary Gazette under the provisions of Section two of the Commission of Inquiry Act.
