Sri Lanka will stop importing gas, fuel by 2020 – Champika

Minister of Power and Energy Patali Champika Ranawaka says that Sri Lanka will halt the importation of gas and fuel from foreign countries by the year 2020.

He stated that natural gas has already been discovered in two wells (CLPL-Barracuda-1G/1 and CLPL-Dorado-91H/1z) located in the Mannar Basin.

Speaking at an event held in Anamaduwa, Puttalam on Friday (6), the minister also stated that corruption and financial fraud committed under the previous regime will be revealed to the country within this month.
