Four DIGs among top cops transferred

Several high-ranking police officers including four Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) and 18 Senior Superintend of Police (SSP) have been transferred with immediate effect, the Police Spokesperson told Ada Derana.

According to the new arrangements, DIG Kapila Jayasekara, who was in charge of Trincomalee police division, has been appointed as the DIG for Colombo South, while DIG V. Indran, in charge of welfare activities at the Police Headquarters, has been transferred to Trincomalee police division. 

DIG Sumith Edirisinghe, in-charge of Kalutara and Panadura Divisions, has been appointed as the Director of Welfare Activities at the Police Headquarters. SSP Premalal Ranagala, in charge of Colombo South, has also been transferred to the Uva Province.

The Police Spokesperson added that the transfers were made according to service requirements.
