Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa is being questioned by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption in relation to his assets and liabilities, an official said.

Weerawansa has come to the Commission with his Attorney Kapila Gamage, this morning.

Earlier, the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) lodged a complaint against 12 former top governmental members including ex-President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Namal Rajapaksa MP, ex-Minister Basil Rajapaksa and former defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Vijitha Herath MP stated the Commission should conduct an unbiased investigation and the JVP predicts that the justice will be served in this case.
