Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Monday (9) announced that it will send Kithuruwan Vithanage and P.H.T Kaushal to stand in for injured Dinesh Chandimal and Rangana Herath.

“Owing to the injuries faced by Chandimal, the National Selectors have in discussion with the Team Management recommended to fly in Kithruwan Vithanage as a cover up batsman. P.H.T Kaushal will replace Rangana Herath in case if his injury doesn’t show any improvement. They will be subjected to the approval of the ICC’s WC 2015 Technical Committee,” SLC said in a statement.

“Chandimal has a torn hamstring injury and we are monitoring him closely for the next 48-hours. We might have to replace him with another player,” Sri Lanka team manager Michael de Zoysa has told foreign media previously.
