Retired Brigadier sentenced to death for wife’s murder

A retired Brigadier of the Sri Lanka Army has been sentenced to death by the Gampaha High Court after he was found guilty in the 2007 murder of his wife in Sapugaskanda.

Brigadier Chandana Priyantha was charged in the shooting and killing of his wife, 38-year-old Panwita Koralalage Thejangani, at their residence in Makola, Sapugaskanda on November 23, 2007.

He was found guilty in the shocking murder and sentenced to death by Gampaha High Court Judge Piyaseeli Wickramasinghe.
