The Colombo Magistrate on Tuesday (17) issued a restraining order on the officials of Harbour Container Transport Union preventing them from blocking the entrance to the Harbour.

Eleven more trade unions have joined the strike launched by container truck drivers at the entrance to the Colombo Port.

The strike has been launched since last night, in protest over the decision taken by authorities to permit additional container trucks to operate at the port.
