FIB questions Sajin Vass

Parliamentarian Sajin Vass Gunawardena currently being questioned by the Fraud Investigation Bureau over an alleged financial fraud, a police source said.  

Gunawardena has been summoned to record a statement in connection with the financial fraud that may have taken place when purchasing some 33 vehicles through a leasing facility from the People’s Leasing & Finance PLC, an offshoot of the People’s Bank, the source added.

On 11 March, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) also recorded  a statement from Gunawardena in connection with a complaint received under the money laundering act.
