Probe launched into attack on Buddhist monk at Colombo school

Cinnamon Garden Police have launched an investigation into a complaint alleging that a Buddhist monk serving as a teacher at a leading school in Colombo was assaulted by the principal of the same school.

The principal of the school had allegedly verbally abused the Buddhist monk using foul language and assaulted him when the latter had visited his office to lodge a complaint.    

The monk in question reportedly captured the incident on video while according to the complaint filed by him, he was also assaulted by another 7 teachers of the school.

The Vice Principal of the school has also been named as one of the attackers.
