Special commissioner for LG bodies: ex-President expresses disapproval

Ex-President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Sunday (22) expressed his disapproval with respect to the new government’s decision to place all local government bodies under a special commissioner.

The government decided to place local government bodies under the special commissioner for a period of one year, upon dissolution.  

The terms of all local government bodies will be expired on 31 March, 2015.
