Several persons have been injured following a clash involving a group of supporters of newly appointed Minister Felix Perera and supporters of another Minister.

The clash reportedly took place when a group of supporters were preparing to a place a congratulatory message, across billboards in the Ja-Ela and Kandana areas, wishing Felix Perera after he assumed duties as the Minister of Special Projects.

When inquired regarding the incident, Minister Perera stated that his supporters were attacked by a group of persons who had arrived in a vehicle belonging to the Fisheries Ministry.

However, the Police Spokesman’s Office said that no such clash had taken place and that police officers had intervened and managed to resolve an argument over a hoarding.
