Sub-Inspector arrested for molesting underage girl

A Sub-Inspector (SI) has been arrested in the Uragasmanhandiya area on charges of molesting an 11-year-old school girl at her residence, police said.
The suspect was arrested by Uragasmanhandiya Police based on a complaint lodged against him over the incident.
The Sub-Inspector, who is attached to the Karandeniya Police Station, is said to be a resident of the Uragasmanhandiya area and lives in close proximity to the victim’s house.
