Missing woman’s body found in Kotakethana canal

Body of the woman that went missing from Kotakethana are in Kahawatta has been found from the Kotakethana canal, the police confirmed a short while ago.

The body was recovered after a 36-hour search operation.

The search was initiated to locate the 39-year old woman who went missing since wee hours of Sunday (5).

The police investigations started subsequent to a complaint lodged with the Kahawatta Police station by the husband of the missing woman. The husband in his complaint has told the investigators that his wife had gone missing at the time he returned home at around 2.20 am.

Kotakethana in Kahawatta, is notorious for the violent murders, as some 14 women were brutally killed in the area in recent past. The police also apprehended several suspects in connection with the incidents.
