45 Sri Lankans evacuated from Yemen

The Linyi naval vessel, which was responsible for the evacuation of a last batch of Chinese nationals and embassy staff in Yemen, has carried 45 Sri Lankan nationals to safety in the East African nation, at the request of Sri Lanka’s government, the Xinhua news agency reported. 

The vessel  also moved the last batch of 24 Chinese nationals from Yemen’s western port of al-Hodayda to Djibouti on Monday, 

China has temporarily closed its embassy in Yemen and its Consulate General in Aden, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying.
