Four dead, 1 injured after gem mine collapses

Four persons were killed and another person wounded due to the collapsing of an earth embankment at a gem mine in Gileemale, Ratnapura.

The Police Spokesman’s Office said that the incident occurred at around 9.00am this morning and that the injured miner has been admitted to the Ratnapura Hospital for treatment.

The victims are between the ages of 30-55.
