Special traffic plan for Bhutan PM’s visit

The Police Headquarters has announced a special traffic plan that would be implemented from today (09) to Sunday (12) as a security measure during the Bhutan Prime Minister’s visit to Sri Lanka.

The special traffic plan would be implemented today from 11.00 am to 12.00 noon, from BIA Expressway to Galle Face, 2.00 pm to 3.00 pm - Galle Face roundabout to Kelaniya Temple and 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm. - Kelaniya Temple to Gangarama Temple along Bandaranaike roundabout, Orugodawatta, Dematagoda, Borella Junction.
 
The Prime Minister of Bhutan Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay will arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today at t 10.45 am commencing a three-day visit, at the invitation of President Maithripala Sirisena.
 
During the visit, he will meet the Sri Lankan President, Prime Minister and other senior government officials.

The visit will further strengthen the bilateral relations and cooperation between Bhutan and Sri Lanka. Diplomatic relation between the two countries was established in 1987.
