Police catch more suspects in Rathgama PS chairman murder

The police on Wednesday (9) apprehended to more suspects in connection with the murder of Rathgama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Manoj Pushpakumara Mendis. 

The suspects will be produced before the Galle Magistrate today itself, a senior police officer told Ada Derana.

Janith de Silva, also known as Podi Lasia, who is said to be a key suspect in the murder was arrested last week and had been remanded till 20 April.

37-year-old Mendis was gunned down outside a hotel in Hikkaduwa after attending a social gathering at the venue.  

Two more persons sustained non-life threatening injuries in the shooting.
