Police grills Tiran Alles

The police Special Investigation Unit on Thursday (9) recorded a statement from MP Tiran Alles over an alleged financial fraud, the police Spokesperson said.

Earlier, the Fort Magistrate’s Court banned the foreign travel for Parliamentarian Tiran Alles and five other Directors of a private company owing to an alleged financial fraud occurred through funds allocated for tsunami-affected people.

In 2006, the company is said to have obtained some Rs. 645 million from the Treasury for the purpose of constructing houses for Tsunami-affected people in the East Coast.
