State funeral of Asgiriya Mahanayake today

The funeral of the Most Ven. Aggamaha Panditha Udugama Sri Buddharakkhita Mahanayake Thera of the Asgiriya Chapter will be held today (12).
The cremation with full State honours together with 17 gun salutes will be held at the Asgiriya Police Grounds in Kandy at 2 pm.
The Government has also declared 12 April, a Day of National Mourning as a mark of respect.
Accordingly, all private and state institution are requested to fly the national flag at half-mast on the aforementioned date and to hoist yellow flags in Temples and houses.
