Five held over attack on police constable

Five suspects have been arrested for the assault on a Police Constable and his sister at their residence in Ethimale, Monaragala.

Police said that 7 individuals, who arrived in a three-wheeler last night, assaulted the police officer at his home and had also attacked his sister.

Both victims have been admitted to the Ethimale Regional Hospital for treatment.

Police investigations are ongoing to arrest the other two suspects involved in the incident.
